Keeping the kids entertained this summer is now even easier thanks to Sky Go, which just got a new update adding on-demand kids TV, with shows like Spongebob Squarepants, Ben10, Art Attack, and The Flintstones. There are eight new channels in total, including the Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Boomerang.

In addition to the on-demand service, which allows you to instantly stream content to anywhere in the United Kingdom and Ireland over Wi-Fi and 3G, Sky Go will also be offering the same eight channels “live” from next month. This lets you to tune in to the same live broadcasts you’d see on your living room TV.

The kids channels join the 24 other channels already available on Sky Go, including all the Sky Sports channels, 11 Sky Movies channels, Sky 1, Sky Atlantic, and Sky Arts 1. All of this content is free to Sky subscribers with the appropriate subscriptions.

Sky also has big plans for its free Sky+ app for the iPad this summer. The company is preparing to add new remote control functionality, which will allow Sky customers to pause and rewind content using Apple’s popular tablet. The app will also get a Sky+ HD planner and will enable users to add and remove recorded content without interrupting what they’re watching.
